Surely you shouldn’t miss Nextarchlab event Built Environment Futures taking place on the 9^th of November at AUC. The event aims to introduce relevant and focused project proposals to the emerging built environment problems.

It’s a great opportunity to network with developers and stakeholders and attend fruitful talks. The event is developing research questions, emerging from market representatives including developers, constructors, investors and governmental personal. Moreover it’s making sure suggested solutions can be implemented in the near future.

NextArchlab

NextArchLab was founded in 2019 under the Architecture Department of The American University as a part of the Centennial ceremony activities. It links between academia and industry seeking to resolve the urgent urban challenges confronting our cities today. This is through engaging all stakeholders of the built environment including decision makers, planners, developers, architects, and inhabitants. Generally, the lab focuses on open research and innovation through collaborative partnerships.  Moreover, this May, NextArchlab hosted Norman Foster’s lecture From ‘Re-materializing Construction’ Conference at AUC.

First phase: The Ideation phase

The project originally consists of 3 phases: The Ideation Phase , The Incubation Phase & finally The Realization phase.

This on-ground networking event is the first phase. The aim is connecting students from all over Egypt who share same interests and enthusiasm to change. Furthermore, Nextarchlab online platform will hold discussion boards. This will provide a space for groups to discuss solutions and develop their ideas.

During the second Incubation phase, exports will provide supporting mentorship to discussion members. This is to help develop project ideas and work on strategic challenges. Finally, on the Realization phase each team will get a chance to pitch their project ideas. That’s at the linking event hosting potential stakeholders. If the ideas match with one of these stakeholders, there will get to work in implementing their projects.
