The Design Show Cairo (TDS) in its fourth edition hosted in the Dusit Thani Lakeview fifth settlement from the 2nd to 4th of November. For three days the agenda was full of panel discussions, workshops, stage talk and lecture from Egypt’s reputable architects and designers.

Lecturers included Eng. Mona Hussein lecturing how to turn a house into a lifetime home. Further, Eng. Amr Ghaly presenting the topic of designing education. The event hosted also several stage talks during the 3 days. One of these interesting talks was given by Eng. Ehab Mokhtar about Design for Happiness. In addition to several other distinguished architects and engineers discussing different topics including smart solutions, green walls, the future of light and unique design possibilities.

The Design Show Cairo featured lots of architectural offices that displayed their latest projects. Some exhibited their projects in creative ways. Awtad Architectural Designs displayed an interior designed room in an upside down manner. Where the ceiling is the place that you walk on and the floor is above your head. Other’s like Digital Com presented virtual reality experience with headsets. So architects and customers can experience smart home ideas and solution. IDIA Ehab Mokhtar Designs presented their projects in a closed black booth labeled “experience architecture” displaying inside interactive projections of their projects.

Not only Architecture offices attended, yet also related companies for interior design, products, and real estate developers which helps in tracking the latest trends, gaining inspirations and ideas from potential partners. The design show offered a platform for designers and suppliers. To get to know one another and help develop and improve the design industry in Egypt.
