The winners of the ‘Wildlife photography competition 2019’ were announced by London’s Natural History Museum on Wednesday.

Sir Michael Dixon director of Natural History Museum said: ‘This compelling picture captures nature’s ultimate challenge , its battle for survival.’

He also added ‘The area in which this was taken, often referred to as the ‘third pole’, because of the enormous water reserves held by its ice fields, is under threat from dramatic temperature rises like those seen in the Arctic. At a time when precious habitats are facing increasing climate pressures, seeing these fleeting yet fascinating moments reminds us of what we need to protect.’

Chief judge Roz Kidman Cox’s words about the winning photo of the ‘Wildlife Photography competition were ‘Photographically, it is quite simply the perfect moment. The expressive intensity of the postures holds you transfixed, and the thread of energy between the raised paws seems to hold the protagonists in perfect balance’.

The winning Grand Title in the Competition

The Grand Title in the competition was awarded to ‘Photographer Yongqing Bao’ s photo. The Bao’s winning photo bet more than 48,000 photos from 100 different Countries.

The winning photo has been named ‘ The Moment’ that shows Humor accomplished with Horror as at the first look you may smile at the Marmot look until you will observe the full photo as the Marmot is only seconds before being attacked.

Bao captured the moment of Tibetan Fox attacking a Marmot after watching them for some time in Qilian Mountains in China.

Photographer Yongqing Bao was born and raised in China, he was always interested in the Wildlife. His work has been awarded different international Competitions .

The award was granted to ‘Cruz Erdmann’ a 14 years old photographer from New Zealand for his photo ‘Night Glow’.

The exhibition at the Natural History Museum in London opens on Friday, October 18, 2019 till May, 2020. Next year’s competitors will be accepted from October 21, 2019.
